It seems as if it was just yesterday
When youth was forever and a place to stay
Your beauty was my wonder, your soul my awe
Your love that gave me the wings to fly above it all
Awoken the dream, revealing paradise’s key
Now here I reflect with your warmth inside of me

Fireworks

Vast colours array splash against the dark sky’s face
Their trailing embers float slowly back down
Fireflies dance in the quiet starlight
See them glimmer and then fade away
A cool breeze whispers from the western corner
My arms that surround now keep you warm
Gently you sway as my hands reach for yours
Our fingers intertwine I now feel your warmth too
Your eyes look deep into mine, you’re reading my soul
My comfort, my love, to have you here next to me
Holding you so close I hear your precious heartbeat
How I love to feel your breath on my skin
Into your ear I reveal all of my heart’s secrets
Now breathless I stand in awe of you
Miracle, dear godsend, I pray you never stray
My life I can now view as something of worth
My every breath I breathe for your touch
For your loving eyes to look down on me
Slowly my fingers caress your soft face
Kisses I place upon your cheek
I could stay forever here with you
Life needs no more meaning than this
Mind, body, and soul I surrender now
Never have I felt such peace inside
Please hold me and care and let me see
I’ll be everything that you desire
I can’t help but to think of heaven
On nights like this but still that I’d abandon

Same place, the trees still looking down on me
In the still at the hidden river’s edge
Floating in the air I can smell your sweetness
My fingers reaching out as I touch your precious face
Sweet emotion unveiled in the heart of this resting place
I can still see your smile and hear your laugh
How I long to retrace history’s pages
To hold you again in my loving embrace
Amazing how quickly things we love seem to disappear
Still they are treasured deep within our hearts
Sometimes brought out again to relive
To bring a quiet smile to our shadowed souls
How the sun falling melted between the leaves
Its orange hued light echoed across the distance
We danced through the darkened forest so joyous, alive
And I held your hand as we edged the clearing
The sky stretched out so beautifully
Decorated painting so perfectly the colours placed
Much like the life you brought to me
When your world transformed my own into paradise


One Thousand and One Fireflies

The darkened hallow of shadowed bough
And silhouette of climbing trees skyward
Wait as embered light creeps between their leaves
Illuminating their ordinate form
The river it passes so lucid and serene
Quietly gurgling as the ethereal waves pass by
Above the winding stream, behind the curtain
Of saplings green and oak hue brown
So there she sits so peacefully
At the river’s edge upon her secret perch
Gazes she out from those reflecting eyes
Mirrors which reveal the intent of her soul
Her thoughts pass through herself
And transcends by her mouth to him
Reflections of heart and spirit, sole body in accord
With skin as rose petals’ soft caress
Her fingers find themselves intertwined with his
That special touch that transforms his cold heart
Under such cryptic spell, spoken words of enchantment
He slips away into her loving embrace
Far deep into her quiet world of peace
Her lips glimmer in the waning sun’s light
Precious lips who await his welcome
Invitation taken, he approaches with desirous intent
The elusive moment has arrived unaware
Love given birth in the hands of this forest
Brought together by celestial means
The sky now filled with firefly glow
The crimson fire now spread across the view
Stars creeping out from behind the light of day
There he is to stay within the warmth of her arms
And the passion of her kisses, forever this place to stay

The rose has bloomed in the moonlit rain
How the beauty of the skies reigns o’er head
Stars of celestial light have become the centerpiece
Of the blackened ocean of stars floating above
All time is elapsed by the space of the moon
Sailboats in the sky and birds fly in the ocean
Colours so radiant the desert overflows with the glory
If only a piece of this peace could rest in my soul
To rise up within the fallen man who lives inside
Who would the glory of the stars give their vision to?
I see the visions appearing, i feel the power of the immortal
The world is a waterfall, the prism of the rainbow in the myst
Slight breeze caresses over my soul, across my sun beaten face
The desert is filled with a fountain of beautiful flowers overflowing
Baby’s breath and carnations, tulip flowers and rose silken petals
Can you graze the face of heaven with your outstretched hand?
If you surrender to that which is unseen, steps of your own will come close
I could close my eyes and see your face if only i would allow my mind
Yet i remain blind and absent to the truth if only i had eyes to see

To Fall In Love With You

The day slowly fades while the stars begin to twinkle
The setting sun creeps across the night sky
I look into your wondrous eyes as they glimmer
My heart it soars, my spirit it flies
As my fingers reach across and touch your face
Quietly I long to hold unto you for all eternity
How sweetly you smell as we embrace
To look upon you, a view of heaven to see
With skin so smooth, your hair so radiant
My breath is taken in awe of you
Such life in your every breath, evermore do I want of it
At the edge of my rope, stumbled onto the truth
To be here with you is all my heart longs for
Every moment with you, a gift received not deserved
Out amongst the starry skies I soar
My life to live to better yours
