Ball Of White In The Night

Moon arrived early twilight,
Standing alone in the sea of black.
One or two stars twinkled bright,
Among the many with luster lacked.

Down to Earth, the lights flashed,
The colors of the rainbow displayed.
People laughing, friendly smiles smashed,
Little kids past bedtime stayed.

Loud music, gentle smiles,
Screams of joy and laughter,
Ready to go home many miles,
Spent lots of money but it doesn’t matter.

Rides spin around again,
Ferris Wheel makes another turn.
Boy and girl walked hand-in-hand,
Happiness and love forever to burn.

No one thought this would be the night,
No one ever thought it could happen this way,
When they were out of sight,
One walked down their path, down their way.

Concealed himself within the comfort of trees,
Followed at a safe distance behind the two.
The two took the world as slow as can be,
Love in their eyes, so fresh and so true.

The man decided now was the time to do his deed,
Rushed at the speed of light at the couple that embraced.
Had no motive but to follow through and succeed,
He took the girl away from her boy and away they raced.

Tears ran like a stream from her green eyes.
With the fury of many strong men,
His love burned brightly in brown eyes,
He couldn’t live without her, no one could understand.

Catching up he got her back again,
But not without a fight from the nighttime foe.
Fist met fist and each blow was returned till the end,
A heated match of jealousy versus love to show.

He hit the ground with a noise like no other,
With the boyfriend on top to finish this match.
Finished off with a word of anger to smother,
Final blow and took back his girl that was snatched.

How the love was proved that night to her,
Face lit up with the joy of her splendor,
Heart inside had emotions stirred,
Felt a love so deep she never had before.
